Get a real estimate for my storeHow to use the abandoned cart calculator
First, enter how many checkouts your store sees abandoned in a typical month. Next, add your average cart value. Then slide the recovery rate to see how results change. The table updates as you type, so you can test a few scenarios quickly.
The math is simple. We multiply checkouts by cart value to get the total value left behind. Then we apply your recovery rate, take our 20% fee, and show what you keep. That’s the same model on our pricing page: no setup fee, no retainer, and fees only on recovered orders.
Find your numbers in Shopify
Shopify makes this easy. In your admin, go to Orders and then Abandoned checkouts, as the Shopify Help Center explains. Count the checkouts from the last 30 days. You can also export them with your orders if you prefer a spreadsheet.
For average cart value, add up the totals on that list and divide by the number of checkouts. If that’s too much work, your average order value is a fair stand-in. Just keep in mind that Shopify deletes abandoned checkouts older than three months, so use recent data.
Want more detail on how we connect? Our Shopify abandoned cart recovery page walks through it.
Find your numbers in WooCommerce
WooCommerce doesn’t track abandoned carts on its own, so the numbers live in your cart-recovery tool. For example, AutomateWoo lists carts under AutomateWoo and then Carts, with the status and total value of each one, according to its documentation. Email platforms with WooCommerce integrations usually show similar reports.
Filter for abandoned carts in the last 30 days, then count them and average their totals. Our WooCommerce abandoned cart recovery page explains how we plug into those tools.
Choosing a recovery rate for the abandoned cart calculator
The slider runs from 1% to 15%, and it starts at 5%. We use 5% in our examples because it’s a modest place to start. However, it’s not a benchmark or a promise. Your real rate depends on your products, your prices, and how many shoppers gave phone consent at checkout.
So treat the slider as a “what if” tool. Try a low number and a high number to see the range. Then book a call, and we’ll build a real estimate from your own data.
What the calculator leaves out
- Taxes and shipping, because our fee applies to the product subtotal only.
- Refunds and returns, which we credit back on your next invoice.
- Repeat purchases from customers you win back, which we never bill.
- Shoppers who buy on their own before we reach them, which we also never bill.
